Lewis explained that an individual seeking US citizenship must first hold a green card for a minimum of five years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">However, if they are married to a US citizen, this requirement is reduced to three years. As part of the process, they will need to complete and submit the USCIS N-400 form and pay applicable fees.
